Salary/Wage: Base Pay: $78,685-$93,943*
Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: 56 hour work week schedule
Relevant Experience Or Requirements: Class C California Driver’s License, CA EMT-D Certificate & SD County Accreditation at time of hire. BLS certification at time of hire, CPR certification, CPAT, Fire Department experience. FFI Academy “highly desirable”.
General Summary: Under supervision, responds to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous condition situations, public incidents, and other types of emergencies. Protects life and property endangered by fire and other emergencies; performs fire safety inspections, and performs related duties as required. Positions in this class are primarily responsible for the operations of a fire hose and related equipment when engaged in fire suppression and the administration of first aid when engaged in medical calls.
Education Level: HS Diploma or equivalent required. Any combination of experience and training in Fire Explorer, volunteer Firefighter reserve Firefighter, wildland Firefighter etc. Interest in completing a Paramedic program.
