What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Business position at Barona Resort & Casino?
OBJECTIVE: Enhance Barona Casino’s BUSINESS IMPERATIVE: “To create an unsurpassed gambling experience” by:
• Managing assigned projects that include the design, development, and/or implementation of new or enhanced technology-based solutions
• Supporting production systems to ensure maximum benefit and availability of these applications
• Delivering services on time, within budget and to user satisfaction
• Following established methodologies and standards
• Meeting annual goals set for the Development group
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an office environment and lower than normal temp. On occasion, visits the Casino floor, hotel and staff areas to support applications and meet with business partners where there is exposure to second-hand smoke. Moves between office bungalows and main Casino buildings as required for meetings and support services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Barona’s Business Imperative and the related Implied Promises established by the IT Development group
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Barona’s Vision Statement, Core Values and the IT Development Department goals and behaves in a manner consistent with all of these directives
- Delivers on the Implied Promises and related Service Guarantees (goals)
- Works with internal customers to analyze operational procedures and systems to identify areas that can benefit from technology
- Determines and reports the feasibility of system upgrades or development by analyzing existing system capabilities, customer requirements, deadlines, and department or vendor resource availability
- Develops and proposes new system standards to improve production or workflow as required
- Develops a detailed project work plan for each assigned project and includes accurate cost and time estimates and related schedule
- Gathers requirements and prepares detailed functional specifications, test plans/scripts, process models and descriptions and other assigned deliverables
- Manages customer change requests throughout the project lifecycle to minimize impact to the project cost, schedule, and resources
- Provides thorough training sessions and documentation for internal customers as well as support staff for each project implementation
- Conducts research of new technologies or applications that can either provide a competitive edge to the company or improve services to guests and staff
- Provides tier III support for assigned systems on a 7x24 basis.
- Provides project updates, status, and completion information to IT Management via direct reporting, written reports, voice mail, e-mail, or other types of communication as required
- Performs any and all other duties as assigned

e. Develop flow charts and statistical graphs

g. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science. Information Systems Management or related field desired.
2. Computer Certifications, Management Training and Project Management Certificates are desired, but not required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Must have three years experience as a business analyst
2. Must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of basic computer systems concepts, facilities, tools, networks and architectures
3. Mush have experience in formal project management using a structured systems development methodology
4. Must have knowledge of database design and structures
5. Must have working knowledge of how to define requirements definition and develop an effective technical solution design
6. Must be capable of working effectively under pressure and time constraints
7. Should have experience with support and troubleshooting on AS/400, Unix, or SQL-Server technology stack
8. Should have experience supporting at least two of the following industry systems areas: Hotel, Casino, Hospitality, Restaurant, POS, Slot Management Systems
ALTERNATIVE TO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A.A. Degree in Computer Science. Information Systems Management or related field
2. Minimum of three years at Barona in an IT or business role that has led to an in-depth knowledge of the attendant application systems
