SUMMARY
The overall purpose of the Regulatory Affairs Associate position is to provide regulatory and compliance support and answer regulatory inquiries from both internal and external sources. This role serves as an entry point into the regulatory framework of the business. The focus areas of this role include documenting and verifying vendor raw materials for the products and chemistries offered by Microban, accurately and efficiently uploading this information into compliance systems, and generating the required compliance documentation to support both Microban and its customers. The Regulatory Affairs Associate will also support many exciting and impactful projects impacting Microban as part of Regulatory Center of Excellence.
This role is hybrid, needing to be in Huntersville office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday weekly during core hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Author Globally Harmonized System (GHS) compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels globally utilizing SDS Authoring Software.
- Respond to regulatory and compliance inquiries.
- Manage a database of technical information to best support business needs.
- Author regulatory compliance letters, and Restricted Substances List (RSL).
- Generate, maintain, and update chemical product labels.
- Provide support for regulatory and compliance projects as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other science field from a four-year college or university and 0-3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have basic understanding of chemistry and an ability to apply regulatory frameworks (such as GHS) to everyday tasks; project management and time management skills; ability to prioritize work based on business needs. Must have excellent interpersonal skills; good verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills; and the ability to work independently without supervision. An understanding of toxicology or background in industrial hygiene would be a bonus.
