Fleet and Tooling Technician
Job Description
The Fleet and Tooling Technician will help facilitate the productivity of fleet operations by maintaining equipment and tooling inventory as well as assisting in the scheduling of preventative maintenance and services of fleet vehicles, tooling, and equipment. This position assists in coordinating logistics for vehicle redeployment as well as supporting the fleet coordinators and the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction. This position also assists the safety department in maintaining equipment inventories and regulatory compliance.
Education/Experience
Highschool Diploma or GED preferred
Experience in logistics preferred
Ability to acquire a DOT medical card required
Mechanic/maintenance experience preferred
Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge
· Interpersonal Skills. Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with multiple levels of personnel. Must have effective communication skills.
· Technological Skills. Must possess basic computer skills and ability to learn company’s fleet management software.
· Must maintain professional appearance and decorum at all times
· Mobility. Must be able to lift, carry, and manipulate equipment
· Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
· Must be available for occasional overnight travel
· Knowledge of DOT regulations a plus
· Valid drivers license and good driving record - required
Responsibilities/Duties
· Assist with vehicle purchases and replacements
· Assist with process improvements
· Assist fleet coordinators with scheduling maintenance and repairs.
· Perform in house maintenance checks and service
· Maintain fleet and tooling inventories
· Outfit crew trucks and trailers with appropriate equipment and tooling per SOW
· Assist operations with tooling and equipment purchases
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
