Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled, safety-conscious, and efficient Loader Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you'll operate heavy equipment to support the movement of materials and products throughout our composting facility. Your experience and attention to safety will help ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate has a solid background in equipment operation, values teamwork, and consistently follows safety protocols. You'll be responsible for loading trucks, feeding machines, and contributing to the overall flow of our day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment, including CAT 972 loaders or similar, move, load, and manage compost materials.
- Load over-the-road trucks accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper inventory tracking of bulk products.
- Move, stack, and screen pre- and post-composting materials using loaders and other machinery.
- Feed composting machines and assist with material flow throughout the facility.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance to ensure safe, optimal performance.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and all company safety policies to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline operations, improve workflow, and support overall facility goals.
- Assist with general yard maintenance and other duties as needed.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience operating CAT 972 loaders or similar heavy equipment
- Experience with excavators and screen plants is a plus.
- Experience with bulk loading of over-the-road trucks.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and the ability to effectively communicate equipment issues to mechanics for troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious with a proactive attitude.

Schedule
- Steady, full-time work
- 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
- Primarily day shift with occasional nights/weekends
- Overtime as needed
Other Requirements
- Must be able to commute to Sprague, WA
- Per RCW 49.44.240-3(g), Pre-employment and random drug testing are required for this safety-sensitive position.
