Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman to join our Land Development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating and modifying design drawings for land development projects, including residential, commercial, and municipal developments. You will work closely with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure that plans and designs are accurate, complete, and comply with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and modify land development plans, site plans, grading plans, and utility plans using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to interpret project specifications and translate them into technical drawings.
- Create detailed and accurate drawings for land development, including topographical surveys, site layouts, drainage plans, roadways, and utilities.
- Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and adhere to industry standards.
- Perform quality control checks on drawings and designs to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AutoCAD software and advancements in drafting technology.
- Maintain organized records of project drafts, revisions, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to resolve issues and provide design recommendations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software and drafting techniques, with specific experience in land development or civil engineering design.
- Previous experience in land development or civil drafting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of site planning, grading, and utility design.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with civil engineering software such as Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools.
- Experience with GIS software and site analysis tools.
- Knowledge of zoning laws and environmental considerations in land development.
