What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fabrication / Machine Operator position at Barracuda Staffing, Inc.?
We are currently looking to fill a Fabricator position with a Tulsa company specializing in oil and gas related products.
**This is not a welding position**
As a Fabricator, you will play a vital role in the initial stages of the fabrication process. You will review blueprints, select appropriate metal pieces and components, and ensure the correct thickness and dimensions before passing them on for welding. This position requires expertise in using both machinery and hand tools to fit and prepare metal components accurately.
Hours: 7a-4:30p
Pay: $20-$25/hr

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, including turret punches, shears, saws, and rollers.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to produce high-quality products.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy within tight tolerances.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and solve production challenges.
- Conduct pre-production and final inspections for quality assurance.
- Uphold safety standards and contribute to a clean, organized workspace.
- Report material shortages, bad parts, or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Conduct inspections of raw materials and finished goods for defects or inconsistencies.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Additional technical training or certifications are preferred.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and quality control standards.
- Proven experience in advanced fabrication or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Familiarity with aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel materials.
- Skilled in using hand tools, fabrication machinery, and measurement tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Basic math skills, including geometry and measurement conversions.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
