Lead Commercial Construction Superintendent
The Lead Commercial Construction Superintendent oversees all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to Barranco’s high standards of safety and quality. This role involves managing workers, subcontractors, and materials while maintaining compliance with company policies, project specifications, and legal regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Approves timecards and requests for time off.
- Prepares work schedules and assignments.
- Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules.
- Tracks and enforces schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of an assigned project within company guidelines.
- Establishes quality of work standards with subcontractors to ensure overall work is performed in a manner satisfactory to customers.
- Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project.
- Follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Coordinates and schedules the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via project lead to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate.
- Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track.
- Directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards.
- Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
- Tracks progress (photos, daily reports, daily logs) in company software system.
- Ensures project sites are maintained clear of construction debris, safety hazards, and clean.
- Collaborates with Director of Field Operations and Project Manager.
- Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
- Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
- Maintains records related to costs and inventory.
- Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Construction material and attic stock tracking.
- Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
- Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Clean driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred, not required.
- OSHA 10/OSHA 30 Certification preferred, not required.
- Construction software tracking systems preferred, not required.
- Procore Software experience highly desired.
- Five years of experience in construction superintendent building trade required.
- Ability to travel (Road Warrior) 80%.
- Ability to work nights and weekends and out of town, based on business needs.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
- Physically able to climb ladders and lift objects up to fifty pounds.
