The Barre Police Department is seeking candidates for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. Full-Time academy graduates are welcome to apply. Barre has a population of approximately 6000 and is a town of 45 square miles featuring a mix of rural woodland, farms, residential and industrial areas. Barre is an outdoor sports paradise, with hunting, fishing, obstacle/mud races, hiking, winter sports, etc. drawing visitors year-round. Barre PD has a new drone unit, new cruisers and new equipment along with state-of-the-art weapons systems. Salary ranges between $60,000 and $66,500. Detail Rate: $60/hr. Education Stipends: $3000/$4500/$6000. 4-2 work schedule. Officers never work alone.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Police Officer at Barre Police Department. The Police Officer will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to law enforcement, evidence handling, criminal investigations, and maintaining public safety within the community.
Qualifications
- Police Officers and Law Enforcement skills
- 21 years of age
- Posses a valid Massachusetts driver's license (or be able to obtain same prior to being sworn in)
- Qualify for a License to Carry firearms in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Experience in Evidence handling and Criminal Investigations
- Strong understanding of Police procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions
- Physical fitness and stamina
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of criminal law and procedures
- MPTC recognized Full-Time academy preferred.
Salary : $60,000 - $66,500
