The Barre Unified Union School District operates two public prekindergarten programs and partners with community based prekindergarten programs. The Director of Early Education provides leadership to and oversight of the inclusive Early Education programs at both Barre City and Barre Town Schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the early education programs administratively and financially
- Collaborates with BUUSD building principals in meeting licensing requirements
- Ensures that early childhood curriculum is aligned with the VELS and K-12 curriculum
- Coordinates early childhood professional development
- Coordinates evaluation strategies which demonstrate effectiveness of programs
- Coordinates child find activities
- Pursues and oversees grant opportunities
- Collaborates with other outside agencies
- Supports and communicates with community-based prequalified prekindergarten programs and the families who access universal prekindergarten within those programs
- Primary contact for transitions from Early Intervention to EEE
