We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join our tasting room team.
Job Summary:
The tasting room is the face of our vineyard and our associates are responsible for providing an enjoyable and memorable experience. This involves building rapport with guests, educating them about our wines, and sharing the story of our vineyard. The Tasting Room Associate position requires strong communication skills, a passion for Virginia Wine, and the ability to work most weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests to the tasting room with warmth and enthusiasm.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure all needs and inquiries are met.
- Educate guests about the unique qualities of our wines to encourage sales .
- Promote wine club memberships, events, and other offerings to enhance guest excitement and participation.
- Exhibit multitasking skills to meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work in collaboration with team members to smoothly handle busy shifts, maintain inventory levels, and restock merchandise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately using POS system to navigate monthly or weekly specials.
- Assist event coordinator with event room setup or breakdown when needed.
- Adhere to all ABC guidelines and other legal requirements.
- Work flexible hours during special events.
Qualifications:
- Passion for wine and a desire to share that passion with others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience in hospitality, sales, or customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, tasting techniques, and food pairings is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
