Assistant Survey Manager- Job Description
Position Summary: The Assistant Survey Manager supports the Survey
Manager in overseeing surveying projects and ensuring their successful
completion. This role involves providing quotes, scheduling survey
crews, maintaining communication with stakeholders, and holding team
members accountable for tasks and efficiency. The Assistant Survey Manager
works closely with Engineers, Clients, Contractors, and other Agencies to meet
project goals effectively. The Assistant Survey Manager reports to the Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Quoting and RFPs: Provide accurate quotes and respond to
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to secure new projects.
- Team Accountability: Monitor team members' performance to
ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Coordination: Collaborate with Engineers to align on project goals
and resolve issues.
- Client and Agency Communication: Maintain open lines of
communication with Clients and other Agencies to ensure project
requirements are met.
- Construction Collaboration: Communicate with Contractors during
construction to address surveying needs.
- Crew Scheduling: Assist in scheduling and managing survey crews
to optimize workflow and project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a
related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Prior experience in surveying or a related field;
leadership experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of surveying equipment and software,
including GPS, total stations, and AutoCAD.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills
for interacting with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks,
and maintain efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and addressing
project challenges.
Work Environment
The Assistant Survey Manager works in both office and field environments, which
may include exposure to various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
This position may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, operating surveying

Schedule: Changes depending on the job. Travel required (75%).
