Optimized Lineal Board Edger Operator

• Understands/practices and is trained in all aspects of the lock-out procedure for the infeed transfers, lineal edger sawing system outfeed transfers, misc transfers, associated equipment and waste systems

• Reports all safety improvement opportunities to his/her supervisor for investigation and follow through

• Maintains a smooth flow of flitches through the edger system to produce consistent production

• Monitors inbound and outbound lumber quality for accuracy and conformity to standard. Makes adjustments to standard as required

• Is a member of the saw and guide change team for this machine center

• Conducts prescribed machine maintenance (Greasing, photo eye and scanner cleaning) as per maintenance staff instruction/maintenance worksheet

• Works in concert with mechanical, electrical and filing maintenance personnel to ensure optimum machine availability, performance and reduce downtime

• Maintains good housekeeping standards in operators’ station and in and around machine centers

• Conducts other tasks and responsibilities as directed by management

• Follows all employee/company guidelines as per Employee Handbook

• Learns, follows and demonstrates Company core values and promotes a positive work culture environment
