Job Description

Fast-paced performance boat service shop looking for an experienced and motivated Service Writer/Parts Manager with excellent communication, organization and technical problem-solving skills. The right candidate is proactive, reliable and trustworthy. Customer service is essential as you will work closely with customers and staff to ensure that jobs are running smoothly and stay up-to-date on the statuses of all service projects. The Service Writer is responsible for generating work orders by ascertaining service requests and performance problems; inspects boats, writes estimates, orders parts, maintains inventory, processes warranties and maintains superior customer rapport while working closely with the Office Manager, Service Technicians and Business Owner on a daily basis.

Service Writer Responsibilities:

- Coordinates and organizes daily shop workflow

- Prepares work estimates and obtains customer approval for work recommended by Service Technicians

- Monitors repair work

- Maintains detailed boat maintenance records

- Establishes and maintains superior customer service with consistent communication

- Orders required parts and issues purchase orders

- Maintains necessary inventory

- Ensure inventory items are priced accordingly

- Receives daily shipments

- Pick up and Deliver customer boats as needed

Service Writer Requirements:

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Excellent time management skills

- Ability to Multi-task

- Excellent customer service skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Able to work in fast paced environment

- Computer savvy a must

- Experience in boat industry a plus

- Service Writer experience a plus

- Strong knowledge of mechanical parts a plus

- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and easily go up and down stairs

Job Type: Full-time

Shift:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift

Work Days:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
