What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Account Representative-Biller position at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare?
The Patient Financial Services Department at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare invites applications to fill a Patient Account Representative-Biller position to join our team of professionals. The Patient Account Representative is responsible for coordination, completion and submission for payment, all insurance billing/filing timely and accurately. The Patient Account Representative works with members of the Coding team to process appeals to insurance companies for denials that may be received due to medical necessity verification or other reasons requiring modifiers identifying accurate billing for services provided. The Patient Account Representative completes timely and accurate follow-up on claims that have not been paid, makes appropriate adjustments, and processes credit balances to be returned to insurance companies or patients, as applicable. As a member of the team, the Patient Account Representative will cross train and provide coverage in the areas of Registration, Financial Counseling, Cashier/Front Desk, and Systems Specialist areas, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent with one year of related experience and/or a combination of relative education and experience preferred.
