Job Summary
Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Direct traffic safely and efficiently around construction sites using appropriate signage and signals.
Communicate with drivers and pedestrians to guide them safely through or around the work zone.
Monitor traffic patterns and be alert to potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
Work closely with construction team members to coordinate the safe movement of vehicles and equipment on-site.
Set up and take down traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Report any traffic incidents, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as a flagger or in a similar role is a plus but not required.
Ability to obtain necessary flagging certifications (if not already certified).
Strong communication skills and ability to direct traffic effectively.
Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail.
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift materials (up to 50 lbs).
