Barrett Paving Materials Inc NYN is currently seeking dedicated and responsible Construction Flaggers to join our construction team! The Construction Flagger will play an important role in ensuring the safety and smooth flow of traffic in and around construction sites. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a dedication to safety. This flagger carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.
Main Responsibilities
- Direct and control traffic in and around construction sites, following established safety procedures and regulations
- Communicate effectively with drivers, crew, and pedestrians to ensure a clear understanding of traffic patterns and instructions
- Use hand signals, flags, and other signaling devices to guide traffic and ensure safe passage through construction zones
- Supervise traffic flow and adjust traffic control measures as needed to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of vehicles
- Collaborate with construction crew members to coordinate flagging operations with ongoing construction activities
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices, such as cones, signs, and barricades, in accordance with guidelines
- Report any safety hazards, violations, or accidents to supervisors or appropriate personnel
