Title Senior Legal CounselEOE Statement Barrett is an equal opportunity employer.Description Reporting to the Group General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel shall provide practical, succinct and timely legal advice and support to Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc. with respect to government contracting, export regulations, regulatory compliance, personnel and employment matters, procurement and operational legal issues, in accordance with the delegation of authority;You will review, draft and negotiate various documents, contracts and agreements, maintain a suite of contract templates and a contract register relevant to the business unit;You will support drafting, implementing and ongoing compliance to a range of legal policies, procedures and training packs;You will assist with elements of Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc.'s corporate compliance including matters relating to conflict of interest, anti-bribery and corruption, privacy, whistleblowing and probity;Research legal issues and compile research briefs on key legal matters relevant to our business operations;Support the development of project specific information and intellectual property protection and management strategies.Monitor and review case law, legislative updates and governmental rulings to track changes and probable effects on local operations, and brief the business and the broader legal team on such matters;Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and of industry legal standards and best practices relevant to our operations;Collaborate with the broader cross-jurisdictional legal team to facilitate the delivery of legal services to the business;Other tasks as directed by the General Counsel.Full-Time / Part-Time Full-TimePosition Senior Legal CounselPosition Requirements Experience and QualificationsLicensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee, United States.Prior experience in an in-house environment.Knowledge in commercial transactions, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various commercial contracts.Knowledge of USA BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives) regulations or ITAR (International Traffic in Arms) is highly regarded.Personal AttributesSelf-starter, courteous, with high levels of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.Excellent communication skills.Positive and collaborative team player.High attention to detail and reliable.General RequirementsUS PassportSecurity clearance, or the ability to attain one.Driver’s Licence.Adaptability and flexibility to changing work environments and requirements.Shift DaysAbout the Organization Barrett is the world leader in large-caliber rifle design and manufacturing.
