Purpose: The Forklift Maintenance Technician is responsible daily maintenance and repairs of Barrett Petfoods fleet of forklifts, assuring efficiency, and safety for our team.

Responsibilities:
- Accepts repair orders as assigned by Maintenance Director
- Reads work orders, observes and listens to lift in operation to determine/diagnose malfunction or problem(s)
- Offers solutions to management for electric and propane forklifts.
- Provides estimates when appropriate.
- Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the maintenance manager.
- Obtains necessary parts working cooperatively with maintenance manager · Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
- Records complete repair description on work order, including correct model and serial number of equipment and records hour meter reading.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts, specified safety devices on truck and makes adjustments.
- Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintains and operates shop equipment and tools.
- Performs quality work as quickly and professional as possible.
Requirements:
- Maintain equipment & practice preventative maintenance.
- Production support, familiar with production equipment
- Understand Lock-Out-Tag-Out
- Electrically incline/understanding single & 3 phase.
- Safely handle power tool
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to obtain Fork/Truck license.
- Welding experience is helpful but not required.
- Follow GMP’s and safety protocols.
- Great trouble-shooting skills
- Computer literate, team player and communicates well with group/shift.
Hours:
- Monday - Friday - 8am - 4:30pm with occasional evening/weekend work as business needs arise.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $26.50 per hour
