Purpose: Packaging Utility Operator
The Packaging Utility Operator will be responsible for ensuring the packaging process is smooth and efficient. Embracing a culture of safety, quality and high-performance standards is a must. The Utility Operator will ensure that all lines are set up properly according to centerline settings and assist operators when needed to help troubleshoot, get lines running, conduct changeovers, and fill in for operators when absent.

Responsibilities:
Help with the set up on all lines and coach operators on how to set packaging line to machine centerlines and confirm setup is set to the correct product
Support and improve the centerline and troubleshooting processes
Assist Process Engineer with product development when needed
Assist Manager and/or Supervisor with department needs
Identify and investigate issues and report to the supervisor for needed support
Drive quality through monitoring and validating that the product is within standards, checking paperwork, and ensuring the product is correct
Conduct & record metal, weight, seals, and lot code checks.
Verify cleans are accurate by assigning duties to others on the line, filling out quality documents, and ensuring it is completed in a timely manner
Manage and direct team members on the same line on their break times
Communicate with material handlers on upcoming jobs so it is an easy transition
Communicate packaging needs with packaging Supervisor as necessary
Notify Packaging Supervisor of any Safety, Quality, or Production escalation issues
Support troubleshooting of equipment to ensure that daily throughput requirements are met
Notify maintenance if the packaging line breaks
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend stoop and reach.

$21:50 Per Hour
