Overview
Sales Arborists are Barrett Tree Service East representatives serving as the client’s primary point of contact throughout the sales and service delivery process. The primary role of the Sales Arborist is maintaining relationships with existing clients and developing new contacts and business within a defined territory.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate behaviors in all promoting the core values of BTSE: Educate, Inspire, Deliver
- Sales territory will consist of defined areas within the Boston metro region with a primary focus on residential and commercial properties
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities using consultative sales techniques to form and build long standing business relationships
- Promote and maximize tree care, plant health care and lawn care service offerings
- Meet with prospects & existing clients to identify priorities, budgets and goals
- Define needs and project scope, sell safe and sustainable tree, plant health and lawn care services
- Devise horticulturally sound solutions to uniquely meet client needs
- Prepare and present proposals based on budgets and priorities; close sales.
- Draft detailed work orders and instruct crews on key elements of job scope to ensure executed work meets ANSI A300 and client expectations
- Schedule projects, oversee project management and completion to clients’ satisfaction
- Collect payment
- Follow up with clients to ensure work performed and resolve issues if needed
- Provide work to the production team by meeting and exceeding sales goals
- Participate in industry related and community events in presenting to community organizations, arboricultural associations and key stakeholders to preserve and educate in the current trends of tree, plant and lawn health care
Skills
- Arboriculture/Forestry/Horticulture or related degree, or 2 years direct industry related experience
- Currently possess ISA and/or MCA certification; both will be required within 180 of hire
- Currently hold MA applicator license; obtain within 45 days of hire
- Experience in tree, lawn and PHC in residential and commercial properties
- Proven track record of success facing adversity
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills, email and telephone etiquette
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills, basic math skills, and competency with MSOffice
- Valid driver's license required
- Possess/ability to obtain within Commercial Driver’s License within 180 days of hire
