Position Summary
The primary function of the Customer Care Specialist will be to support operations and administrative staff in executing the daily traffic control business. This role may be required to work outside of the metro area as new locations are open. Those functions will expand as the operation grows.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the Company
- Develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships
- Assist in making accounts receivable calls on opens sales invoices
- Process customer quotes and sales orders in TCR, RentalMan, and other company software
- Ensure they complete their work in a manner that supports the daily, weekly and monthly KPIs.
- Ensure that all pricing, materials, and quantities provided to the customer are verified and correct
- Ensure that all customer orders are invoiced in a timely fashion
- Research and problem solve customer inquiries in a timely fashion for traffic control department, fence and other Construction Services provided by Colorado Barricade
- Provide customers with technical information regarding specifications.
- Continually build and maintain a working knowledge of our products and services.
- Build long-term customer relationships by consistently meeting the customer’s needs and expectations through engaging in a friendly and professional manner and encouraging Customer Service Reps to so the same.
- Provide support to Outside Sales Representatives and our field as needed.
- General office duties such as filing, mailing invoices, general housekeeping, etc.
- Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner.
- Dispatch daily projects to ensure they are on time, set correctly and removed when scheduled (satellite location role).
- Ensure minimal downtime in between jobs for each driver. (satellite location role).
- Coordinating and assisting our temporary flaggers to ensure timeliness to the jobsite and working with provider on any issues.
- Communicate with all levels of people - employees, customers, and the public.
- Send daily key assumptions for the schedule to ops team so everyone knows the next day’s mission critical items.
- Help drivers or customers with any issues resulting from daily scheduling, flagging or other subcontractors.
- Partner with ops team to ensure hours of service are adhered to (70 hours in 8 days and max 14 hours per shift with a weekly exemption of max 16 hours for one day). Using POWER BI metrics.
- Arrive to work early or stay late to support incoming and outgoing drivers for daily shift.
- Assist with customer pickups, loading equipment orders as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building relationships with team members inside and out of the organization
- Able to read and understand TC plans and layouts to support customers and drivers.
- Have the ability to obtain and/or hold TCS (Traffic Control Supervisor) certification.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, successfully handling, and prioritizing multiple competing assignments, and effectively managing deadlines

- Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, Email, TCR and Power BI
- Working knowledge of office equipment including copier, fax, scanner, and postage
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
- Office Environment with occasional field work.
- Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50-70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Preferred
- College degree preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in the field.
- Traffic Control experience is highly encouraged. Strong emphasis on multiple job management, scheduling and highway work. Strong knowledge of CDOT traffic control requirements and the MUTCD is needed.
- Ability to quickly review Traffic Control plans or permits and give the customer a fast response on our turnaround time.
- Ability to work at a remote location.
- Construction or Service industry experience.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR **Must maintain a valid driver’s license during entire employment**
- 2 years of operations experience (leading, scheduling, overseeing billing and execution).
- 2 years of customer service experience
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check.
- Hold/obtain DOT medical card.
- Hold/obtain Flagger card
- Strong problem-solving skills with great communication and ability to develop personal relationships with customers and team are required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
