Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Process Control Room Operator to join our Carlin Process Operations team!
As part of the Process Operations team, the successful candidate is responsible for the monitoring, control, and operation of a plant’s equipment and processes from a centralized control room. They ensure that all plant systems run safely, efficiently, and within operational parameters. The operator will respond to alarms, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to maintain optimal plant performance.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Process Operations Supervisor, the Process Control Room Operator is responsible for the following:
- Operate and monitor control systems (SCADA, DCS) to track plant processes and performance.
- Keep a continuous check on plant equipment, machinery, and instruments, ensuring they operate within defined parameters.
- Adjust set points and operating parameters as needed to maintain system efficiency.
- Respond to alarms and process deviations promptly.
- Investigate the root cause of any malfunctions, identify corrective actions, and implement solutions as necessary.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs or troubleshooting.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform regular checks to ensure that the plant is operating within legal and environmental standards.
- Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of operational data, equipment performance, and any incidents or abnormalities.
- Prepare reports for management on plant performance, safety, and maintenance requirements.
- Document operational changes, alarms, and troubleshooting actions taken.
- Communicate effectively with field operators, maintenance teams, and management to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Coordinate with other team members to optimize production efficiency and address operational challenges.
- Provide direction during startup and shutdown processes to ensure smooth transitions.
- Suggest improvements to plant operations to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and lower operating costs.
- Participate in training sessions to improve knowledge of plant systems and new technologies
Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Certifications in process operations or industrial control systems.
- Experience in Mining or Processing Plant.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
