Turquoise Ridge - Geological Technician

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a UG Geology Technician at our Turquoise Ridge operations. As part of the Turquoise Ridge Underground team, the successful candidate will be results centric adding to our already challenging yet rewarding working environment supporting our mining operations. Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe and timely delivery of technical support for all underground needs enabling the Geology Department to deliver results meeting or exceeding our business goals.
• Support site QA/QC through weekly duplicate sampling and auditing of operational sampling practices.
• Assist geologists daily with data entry, reporting, and flagging of stockpiles.
• Support geologists in development headings by marking up probe holes, taking laser measurements, and photographing the drift.
• Assemble sample bags, scan and digitize face mapping, and maintain departmental vehicles regularly.
• Perform sampling on underground and surface stockpiles and sumps as required.
• Participate in safety audits, training, and scheduling.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Geology Department.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work safely in an underground mining environment required
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles required
• Ability to work within a team environment required
• Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Demonstrated safe work habits and ability to work with minimal direct supervision required
• Capable of lifting 30lbs repetitively and lifting 50lbs for short periods of time required
• Previous experience working at a mine operation or exploration project preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018.
