Job Description
As a Long Range Underground Engineer III, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. You will plan and conduct surveys, tests, or investigations, interpret results, and prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Meet with representatives of other departments to coordinate planning and scheduling activities.
- Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but includes a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a B.S. degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience in Underground Mine Planning. Ventilation experience is required, and minimum 3 years of mine design and scheduling is preferred. Technical communication and presentation skills are essential, as well as expert knowledge in engineering and design.
Mining or heavy mineral industry experience is required, and project management skills are preferred. The ability to operate efficiently in MS Office applications, Deswik software suite, and VentSim is also necessary.
