Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Process Operations Superintendent with our Phoenix Process Operations department. The successful candidate will coordinate with metallurgists, process engineers, and hourly personnel as well as refinery, carbon handling, assay laboratory and process maintenance personnel. The Process Operations Superintendent is responsible for the execution of the business plan and the functions of the Phoenix Process facilities. This includes the crushing, floatation, gravity, and CIP circuits at the Mill, the tailings facility, and the Copper Heap Leach and SX/EW circuits.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing employees with safe and healthy work environment by ensuring provision of safe systems of work, safe work procedures, adequate training and instructions, competent supervision, and safe plant and equipment. Accountable for the safety performance of the Phoenix Process Operations team.
- Responsible for the effective promotion and deployment of, and compliance to, all Phoenix and NGM Safety and Environmental Policies and Standards.
- Responsible for execution of business plans and for the creation of operational targets that enable the operation to deliver required performance; ensures production targets are met.
- Ensures communication of relevant messages and deployment of key initiatives from Phoenix and NGM Management to Process Operations crews for clear and direct communication.
- Accountable for ensuring Phoenix Process Operations employees and contractors have the necessary recommencement paperwork, competencies, and qualifications to work safely and deliver quality work.
- Ensures that best practice budgeting principles are applied in setting the annual and life-of-mine departmental budget including supplemental manpower and reagent consumption.
- Reviews and optimizes cost performance monthly, including both forecast and variance analysis.
- Ensures costs are managed and controlled; accountable for the cost performance against budget for the Phoenix Process Operations department.
- Supports and ensures availability targets are met through effective work identification and prioritization of backlog for maintenance scheduling.
- In partnership with Process Maintenance Superintendent, reviews major equipment downtime and its causes regularly and ensure root cause failure analyses are performed as needed; ensure that corrective actions are effectively implemented and tracked.
- Ensures departmental performance is regularly reported to all crews through undertaking formal end-of-month performance presentations on Safety, Cost, Throughput, Utilization, and Recovery including key messages.
- Complete performance evaluation reviews for direct reports and manage their career development.
- Ensure that succession planning for key roles is in place, has the authority to decide on appointments.
- Ensures department training is up-to-date, and training provided as required including specific Competency-Based Training.
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of capital projects as well as provide end-user feedback.
- Employees must comply with state and federal safety and health regulations, company policies and procedures, and the company's environmental compliance policy.
- Bachelor's Degree and twelve (12) years’ experience OR seventeen (17) years related experience preferred
- At least five (5) years direct experience with floatation circuit operation and concentrate production required.
- Good computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work directly with others required
