Turquoise Ridge - Project Engineer I - Civil Construction

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Open Pit Engineer I - Civil Construction to join our Turquoise Ridge operation. The successful candidate will work closely with the mine operations team to execute on designs and plans safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Work involves supporting project planning for the construction of a new tailings facility at Turquoise Ridge. Specifically, duties include the following:
• Coordinate technical information flow between design consultants, quality oversight and contractors.
• Developing scopes of work for civil, mechanical and electrical contractors
• Monitoring work progress: installed quantity tracking, schedule updates, procured materials deliveries, etc.
• Logging contractor activities and documentation
• Quality oversight and coordination, including compaction testing, HDPE liner fusion testing, pipe hydrotesting, etc.
• Support basic project controls functions, including cost forecasting, earned value tracking and cost and schedule performance tracking.
• Work closely with the mine operations team to execute on designs and plans safely and efficiently
• Other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mining Engineering or related field or equivalent experience required
• Zero (0) to four (4) years’ experience in civil construction or open pit mine engineering preferred
• Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
• Team leadership, problem solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
