Goldstrike - Senior Underground Mining Engineer

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Underground Engineer at our Goldstrike Underground Mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed phases of the engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
• Plan and conduct surveys, tests, or investigations, interpret results, and prepare recommendations, summaries, schedules, and cost estimates. Meet with representatives of other departments to coordinate planning and scheduling activities.
• Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but includes a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities. Devise new approaches to problems encountered. Work requires originality and judgment in the independent evaluation and resolution of problems
• Prepare designs for key mine infrastructure enabling future mine production
• Creation of long range mine plans inclusive of CAPEX, OPEX estimates
• Preparation of Reserve and Resource estimates for the site
• Create and analyze metrics to determine operational efficiencies and growth prospects
• Create an environment of trust and respect with other departments at the operation
• Manage and be accountable for the workload allocation and generated products from the site engineering and survey team

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience in Underground Mine Planning required
• Ventilation experience required
• Minimum 3 years of mine design and scheduling required
• Technical communication and presentation skills required
• Expert knowledge in engineering and design are required
• Project management skills are preferred
• Ability to operate efficiently in MS Office applications, Deswik software suite and VentSim preferred
• Strong communication and team fostering skills required
