Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or related field.
- Principal leadership, teacher leadership, or general administrative endorsement required.
- Proven leadership skills to facilitate the work of teachers and work collaboratively with other administrators.
- Strong knowledge of the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching
- Experience in providing instructional leadership
- Demonstrated experience designing and leading professional learning programs for educators
- Strong data analysis and evaluation skills
- Knowledge of MTSS
- Knowledge of gifted and talented programming
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Current certification of the Teacher Evaluation Modules
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Instruction & Student Performance
PURPOSE OF JOB: The Director is responsible for enhancing instructional practices across the school district, providing professional learning experiences for educators and staff, leading the behavioral support side of the MTSS framework, and overseeing the district’s Extended Services programming.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with educators, principals, and staff to ensure that instructional programs and services are administered uniformly, equitably, and effectively at all schools for all students.
- Promote the use of research-based instructional strategies and best practices.
- Lead the district-wide implementation and ongoing application of the updated Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching (2022).
- Provide training and ongoing professional development for educators on the Danielson Framework’s principles and practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Danielson Framework’s implementation.
- Develop and implement systems for collecting and analyzing data related to the Danielson Framework.
- Provide leadership and support for principals and administrators in their role as instructional leaders.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that professional development activities are relevant, effective, and aligned with District strategic goals and priorities.
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality professional development programs and activities, including Workshops, Online Courses, Coaching, And Other Learning Experiences.
- Oversee the logistics of professional development activities, including scheduling, registration, and materials.
- Facilitate the coordination of district inservice days, school improvement days, and district-level Professional Development.
- Utilize data to assess the impact and effectiveness of professional learning programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Oversee and coordinate programs, including, but not limited to:
- Summer University
- UFirst
- New Hire Fair
- National Board Certification
- New Educator Orientation
- New Educator Mentoring Programming
- New Educator Onboarding
- Maintain and approve professional development paperwork and provide necessary information to ISBE and ROE regarding district PD activities/PDHs and admin academy.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with all state-mandated trainings.
- In conjunction with the Director of School Improvement, develop, lead, and implement the MTSS systems throughout the district to improve student behavioral supports and academic outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with buildings in all facets of the development, implementation, and evaluation of the supports and interventions for students.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with all state mandates in the area of MTSS, and train staff in accordance with any mandates thereof.
- Lead the district’s Extended Services (Gifted) programming
- Oversee the Early Entrance to Kindergarten and First Grade process
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: (Completed by the office of Human Resources)
Days - 260 days
Salary Range - $130,000 - $145,000
