Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Clinical Development Oversight
- Define and execute the overall clinical development strategy for the company's neurology portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Oversee the design and execution of early-phase clinical trials (Phase 1/2) and guide programs through proof-of-concept (PoC) and later-stage development.
- Provide expert medical guidance on study design, clinical endpoints, biomarker strategies, and regulatory interactions.
- Lead internal Go/No-Go decision-making based on clinical data, ensuring rapid and informed development decisions.
- Serve as the primary medical liaison with global regulatory authorities (e.g., FDA, EMA), leading IND/CTA submissions, regulatory strategy, and advisory meetings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), patient advocacy groups, and clinical investigators to support trial recruitment and data dissemination.
- Represent the company in scientific, regulatory, and investor meetings, as well as at key medical and industry conferences.
- Lead and mentor the Clinical Development and Medical Affairs teams, fostering a high-performance, innovation-driven culture.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Translational Medicine, Commercial, Business Development, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless progression from preclinical to clinical development.
- Drive external partnerships with academia, CROs, and biopharma partners to enhance clinical trial execution and scientific innovation.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and safety standards across all clinical programs.
- Oversee pharmacovigilance activities, patient safety monitoring, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide clinical and medical input for business development, including due diligence on potential partnerships or acquisitions.
- MD with PhD or with board certification in Neurology or a related field.
- 15 years of experience in clinical development, with a strong track record in neurology drug development, particularly in early-phase (FIH, Phase 1/2) programs.
- Expertise in neurodegeneration, neurodevelopmental disorders, or rare neurological diseases is highly preferred.
- Proven experience leading clinical development programs, including IND submissions, regulatory interactions, and clinical trial execution.
- Strong knowledge of translational medicine, biomarkers, and precision neurology approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a biotech or pharma environment, with experience in small, high-growth organizations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
