Vice President, Program/Strategic/Operations Head
One of my key clients is an established biotech focused on advancing gene therapy and rare disease programs. They have an exceptional pipeline in the cardiovascular and hematology spaces and are currently seeking a senior strategic/program leader. In this role, you would play a pivotal part in leading two of their major programs—one heading toward market and another entering clinical development.
They are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee cross-functional teams and drive the strategic development and execution of all AAV-based therapeutic programs. This role partners closely with key internal and external stakeholders, including medical leadership, investigators, academic researchers, and industry collaborators, to shape disease area strategies from early development through commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams comprising senior leaders and experts to define and execute comprehensive program strategies.
- Collaborate with medical and research stakeholders to design and implement innovative approaches for addressing unmet needs in targeted disease areas.
- Oversee global development efforts, regulatory submissions, market access strategies, and overall program value optimization, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership and contribute to shaping organizational structure, processes, and culture.
- Develop and manage a compelling vision and strategy for each program, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Establish and monitor program budgets, ensuring fiscal discipline and resource optimization.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and maintain high-performing teams to execute strategies effectively.
- Contribute to external communications, including scientific publications and stakeholder updates, in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Mentor and develop team members, creating growth opportunities and ensuring alignment with performance expectations.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) with 10 years of experience in drug development, including leadership of global programs and health authority submission processes.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and provide innovative solutions to complex challenges in therapeutic development.
- Experience in Rare Disease or Cardiovasular highly preferre
- Experience in Gene Therapy (preferred but not essential)
- Demonstrated success in developing therapies for complex or life-threatening conditions.
- Hands-on experience in clinical trial design, execution, and new molecular entity filings.
