Barrington Stage Company seeks a FACILITIES MANAGER to join their facilities team.
Successful candidates will be a skilled tradesperson who has the ability to work independently and across multiple work streams & locations. They will have a vast knowledge of the inner workings of buildings and quick to find solutions.
The Facilities Manager is a full-time, year-round, salaried position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gain full knowledge of the five Barrington Stage Company facilities and their HVAC, elevator, and MEP
- Maintenance and repairs to doors, carpeting, floor tiles, theatre seats, bar & laundry equipment, railings, fixtures & hardware, minor plumbing (including sinks, toilet & shower fixtures, leaks), ejector pump, soap & paper towel dispensers, drywall, grout/calk, and other building-related items
- Apply special attention to patron-facing spaces, such as lobbies and bar spaces, which may require such tasks as sanding, drywall, spackling, and touch-up painting
- Removal or installation of appliances, plumbing fixtures, door fixtures, etc., and regular upkeep/cleaning of roof & storm drains and other in-house drainage systems
- Monitor HVAC to ensure desired temperature throughout the venue and handle immediate HVAC issues
- Prepare buildings for incoming inclement weather; Take appropriate action for leaf, snow and ice removal
- Order necessary maintenance equipment and materials following accounting procedures and within department budget
- Schedule and meet with external vendors to discuss complicated repairs
- Work closely with contracted janitorial company, communicating schedule and cleaning adjustments
- Facilitate monthly & annual checks of the fire extinguishers, first aid kits and AED devices
- Additional short and long-term preventative maintenance, repairs, and capital projects, as directed by general management team
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, with additional certifications or training
- 3 years experience in a facilities, trade or similar role
- Trade skills in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry
- Team player with a “can do” attitude and positive spirit
- Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of City and Fire Department inspections preferred
- Project management and/or having worked with theatrical buildings a plus
- Ability to lift, carry or pull up to 50lbs.
