Our long-term client relationship with Jacobs has led to a need for an IT Specialist on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Responsibilities
The IT Specialist will:
- Serve as a point of contact (POC) for Division users requiring assistance with IT resources – Answer questions to resolve issues, provide information and instructions, as applicable, or direct users to the correct person/resource for assistance.
- Communicate important IT information to Division users.
- Process IT-related procurements and associated paperwork/documentation to include determining and verifying requirements, justification, security compliance, and submittal of required waivers, prior to submittal of IT purchase requests.
- Process, maintain, and verify accurate information in the NASA Commercial Information Technology Request (CITR) compliance tracking tool.
- Ensure submittal, tracking and approval of all Division IT procurements in the Division's Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) procurement workflow tool that feeds into CITR.
- Provide support for inventories of IT resources, including computer hardware inventory, configurations and software licenses.
- Provide support for employee processing activities (e.g., new hires, moves, terminations), including requesting new computers, excessing old hardware, and coordinating deliveries.
- Respond to requests for information (i.e., data calls) originating from various sources, including the Exploration Integration and Science Directorate (EISD) and Information Resource Directorate (IRD).
- Document and maintain various IT procedures.
- Support IT security processes and documentation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area, plus three (3) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area, plus five (5) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Basic knowledge of networking and network security.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills – be able to understand and communicate complex topics with simplicity.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with the ability to track multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must be a self-starter and take initiative.
- Customer service attitude.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Manipulating data in Excel (sorting/filtering/searching) is essential.
- Must know how to use Microsoft Windows and remote communication tools (i.e., Teams).
- Good technical writing skills.
- Basic budget/financial knowledge.
- Ability to conduct independent analyses.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Advanced computer (PC) and Mac operations skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with NASA/JSC IT process/requirements is highly preferred.
- Experience with Jacob's procurement process is a plus.
- SharePoint experience is a plus.
- Should have previous experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Prior experience providing in-person and remote/phone technical support.
- Knowledge of NASA/JSC IT Standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
