What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori Teaching Assistant position at Barron Area School District?
The Barron Area Montessori School is seeking a teaching assistant for 5.5 hours per day/student days. The assistant will provide a positive learning environment for students with guidance from trained staff. The individual will be preparing and maintaining an environment in which the Montessori approach to education is put into practice. The ideal candidate will possess a love of encouraging children to learn and grow, will be comfortable working with elementary age students, is a team player, and is ready and willing to work with our dedicated educational team.
This individual must be willing to help students achieve instructional objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole. Supervising children during specials and recess is also a part of this role.
The following qualifications are necessary:
High school diploma or equivalence
- Some college is preferred
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Have a base understanding of the Montessori philosophy and demonstrate time spent researching the method of education
- Demonstrate flexibility
- Have a calm demeanor
- Works efficiently
- Models integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for self and all persons
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.03 - $15.13 per hour
Expected hours: 27.5 per week
