The RFP Specialist will be responsible for completing requests for proposals (RFPs), and consultant questionnaires, maintaining investment consultant databases, and assisting with other various tasks firmwide. This role is requires an ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the Business Development Support team, while offering extensive opportunities to work with other stakeholders at the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to independently complete standard to moderately complex RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and other ad hoc questionnaires. An ideal candidate would have the ability to scale up to more complex requests given time and experience with the Firm
  • Prepare and review consultant requests including both qualitative and quantitative updates, detailed excel files, and word questionnaires.
  • Maintain investment consultant and other third-party databases with Firm and product information as requested.
  • Work closely with the global distribution and portfolio management teams, as well as finance, operations, trading, and compliance staff to assemble, update, and manage Barrow Hanley’s internal RFP content database (Qvidian)

Qualifications

  • BS/BA required. Candidates with economics/business/finance related majors and experienced writers are strongly preferred.
  • Appropriate understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of the investment management industry, or a willingness to master these concepts (FINRA Securities Industry Essentials® (SIE®) Exam, CFA Institute Investment Foundations® Exam, or similar preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel (including pivot tables, vlookup/hlookup, match-match functions, etc.).
  • Aptitude to work with or learn Qvidian, APX, FactSet, and CRM software.

  • Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, regard for confidentiality, high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with excel (including pivot tables and linking files) is mandatory
