KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving & Dispatching:
- Identify and verify items and containers of incoming and outgoing shipments against consignment records using RF scanning technologies.
- Conduct accurate dimensions, quantity, and quality inspections of stock through the RF scanning receiving process.
- Promptly communicate any variances in quantity and quality to the Account Executive.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispatching of stock, verifying that the correct packages and quantities are dispatched through the RF scanning dispatch process.
- Maintain the quality and specifications of outgoing shipments.
- Systematically process all stock movements and file all related paperwork on the same day.
Stock On Hand Accuracy/Control:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of expected stock arrivals and departures.
- Engage in constant communication with Account Managers/Project Managers to understand upcoming warehouse activities (emails and telephonic communication).
- Coordinate daily with Field Service Coordinators on expected installations and dispatches for the next day.
- Follow cycle count procedures to ensure stock accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Utilize perpetual inventory systems and advanced technology for real-time inventory tracking.
Housekeeping including Health & Safety:
- Dispose of trash promptly and correctly.
- Eliminate trip hazards on the warehouse floor and conduct regular checks of floor and aisle spaces.
- Ensure unobstructed access to sprinklers, fire safety equipment, and fire exits at all times.
- Move all items to their assigned places immediately, avoiding unnecessary stopping points.
- Implement and adhere to warehouse safety and security measures.
Inventory Management:
- Implement and maintain efficient inventory management systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as necessary to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Conduct daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Actively participate in the training process.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.
Technology Utilization:
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technologies to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in warehouse technology.
- Implement new technologies and processes to enhance warehouse operations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Encourage continuous feedback from team members to identify further improvement opportunities.
- Schedule regular reviews to assess the effectiveness of processes and make necessary adjustments.
- Implement lean principles such as reducing waste, optimizing order picking, and enhancing overall efficiency
Regional Assistance:
- Be prepared to assist or relieve warehouse managers in other regions as the need arises.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma / and or tertiary qualification in material management, inventory, commodity procurement
- 4 to 5 years in the fields of warehousing, stock control or supply chain
- Forklift Licence (Advantageous)
