What You’ll Do
As a Director, you will be responsible for leveraging your professional experiences, design and construction knowledge, and industry relationships, along with Design Group’s design and construction capabilities to grow our market share and create value by developing integrated design build opportunities and client relationships. You will lead teams of multi-disciplinary design, preconstruction, and construction delivery professionals in the development and engagement of projects in the Food Beverage, Life Sciences, Household Personal Care, Advanced Technology, Data Center Mission Critical, and EV/Battery Market Sectors.

You will be capable of understanding client business case and operational requirements and responsible to structure the delivery for complex projects involving the design, construction, automation, commissioning, and operation of facility, process, packaging, logistics, power, and water/wastewater components of manufacturing and technology projects. You will engage the client, our internal teams, subconsultants, subcontractors, OEMs, authorities having jurisdiction, and local communities in development of the project, entitlements, and contracts for our work.
Responsibilities
- You will be a key team member and leader driving new engagements with target clients in our aligned market segments, realizing opportunity through positioning to enhance our right-to-win, deployment of our integrated design build model, and value creation methodologies.
- Intake new project opportunity assignments, prepare opportunity assessment and capture plans, and develop project delivery plans and approaches required to engage new project opportunities and client relationships. Translate those efforts into proposals, contracts, presentations, and other supporting documentation to engage projects and the supporting delivery team.
- Lead and/or manage multiple project development efforts in the Food Beverage, Life Sciences, Household Personal Care, Advanced Technology, Data Center Mission Critical, and EV/Battery Market Sectors. In this role, you will leverage your technical skills, expertise, and leadership skills to successfully deliver services and/or projects that meet or exceed the client’s expectations. In this role it is expected that you will be providing project leadership to other Design Group professionals.
- Support the development and recruiting of planning, design, and construction team members with design-build knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Leverage teams that combine Design Group resources, subconsultants, subcontractors, and OEMs to drive the right delivery and value creation model for the client and Design Group.
- Consistently seek new value-add opportunities for Design Group and our clients.

- Innovate and improve project delivery through planning, pre-construction, design consultant, partnering agreements and analysis of processes and procedures.
- Build and sustain a consistent book of design-build engagements developing long term client and internal relationships along the way.
- Participate actively in relevant industry organization events and conferences.
What You’ll Bring
- 10 years of pre-construction planning and design build delivery experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading design build project development and delivery efforts.
- Demonstrated client development experience and excellent presentation skills.
- Experience in pre-construction planning, design management, and construction.
- Familiarly with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) design, construction, and qualification, including process technology evaluation, capacity analysis, GMP environmental classification, and operational analysis.
- Knowledge of production capacity modeling and assessment, manufacturing flow analysis, manufacturing flow diagrams, and process logic diagrams.
- Knowledge of Validation, Commissioning and Quality programs as they relate to design, construction, project, and manufacturing requirements.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task on simultaneous projects.
- Travel as required for client development and project execution.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
