Job Description:
Perform duties required to assemble or modify electromechanical equipment.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare, label, and connect electrical wiring according to circuit diagram.
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine component parts and assembly sequence of electromechanical unit.
- Assemble parts or unit & attach unit to assembly, subassembly, or frame, using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepare wire harnesses from bulk spools.
- Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot face bolt holes in parts using drill press & portable power drill.
- Position and align parts, using fixtures, jigs, and templates.
- File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand tools and power tools.
- Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies.
- Attach name plates and marks identifying information on parts.
- Perform basic pneumatic/hydraulic/conduit layout and hook-up.
- Inspect, test, and adjust completed unit to ensure that unit meets specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
- Disassemble machines to replace parts or to crate for shipping.
- Comply with company standards for behavior, attendance, and hours of work.
- May participate in testing of machines; may diagnose and repair electrical circuits.
- Use company computer(s) to look up bills of materials, schematics, part status, clock in & out of jobs, and other production requirements as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement program and culture.
- Lead, guide, train, and/or coach less experienced team members.
- Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Supervisor and/or Team Leader.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, maintain quality standards, attend team meetings, and follow safety rules.
- Inform supervisor of defective or faulty equipment/materials and report any unusual conditions.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Knowledge equivalent to a basic high school vocational education with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers including decimals and fractions; and to work from drawings, diagrams, schedules, etc.
Experience: Two years of experience preferred, but not required.
