Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Technician to provide technical support for our medical device production assembly line and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic products, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement of the production process. This role requires hands-on experience with various electronic technologies, measurement tools, and collaboration with Engineering and Assembly teams to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 support for technical issues occurring on the production line.
- Diagnose and resolve electronic troubleshooting issues efficiently.
- Perform repairs on electronic products using soldering irons and other necessary tools.
- Handle electronic components in PTH (Pin Through-Hole) and SMT (Surface Mount Technology).
- Utilize electronic measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, impedance meters, and watt meters; experience with Spectrum Analyzers and Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) is desirable.
- Read, analyze and interpret Electronic Interconnect Diagrams, Board Schematics, assembly drawings and instructions.
- Execute Engineering Change validations and test plans developed by engineers.
- Assemble and test jigs, tools, and accessories to support the product assembly process.
- Provide feedback to Engineering and Assembly Line teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Adhere to best practices and industry standards such as IPC-610 for electronics manufacturing and repair.
- Mentor and assist junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Participate in improving work instructions and QC procedures for existing products.
- Support the aftermarket team in troubleshooting field issues and performing calibration procedures as required.
- May be required to perform quality control checks to ensure product performance meets specifications.
- Represent the Repair and Engineering departments in relevant meetings when necessary.
- Must be able to travel 10% of the time if there is a need to visit customer’s site for troubleshooting or onsite repair.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualification and Experience
- 8 years of experience in electronics troubleshooting, repair, and production support.
- Strong knowledge of electronic measurement tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Hands-on experience with soldering and repairing electronic components in PTH and SMT technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with best practices and industry standards such as IPC-610.
- Experience in RF electronic board maintenance and repair is a plus.
- Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving product quality and process efficiency.
