Job Description:
JOB OVERVIEW:
This position requires managing the receipt of incoming shipments and ensuring that products are accurately inspected, documented, and stored. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting overall warehouse operations. By ensuring that all items are received in good condition and properly recorded, the Receiving Associate contributes to a seamless supply chain process, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Additionally, the associate upholds safety standards and promotes a clean and organized work environment.
This position will also work hand in hand with the Kitting/Shipping team. Any downtime will be spent learning the roles and responsibilities of the shipping or kitting department. This allows for cross departmental work experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Efficiently unload incoming shipments from trucks and containers while ensuring the safe handling of goods.
Examine received products for quality and accuracy, checking for damages, discrepancies, and compliance with purchase orders.
Accurately record the details of received items in the inventory management system, including quantities, descriptions, and condition.
Affix labels and tags to products as needed to ensure proper identification and organization within the warehouse.
Store items in designated locations within the warehouse, maintaining a tidy and organized environment to facilitate easy access.
Assist in regular inventory counts and help maintain accurate inventory records to support stock management.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any receiving issues promptly.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
Keep the receiving area clean and organized, disposing of packaging materials and other debris appropriately.
Participate in training sessions and ongoing development to enhance skills and knowledge related to warehouse operations.
Start training and teaching others in the role of receiving.
Look to find areas of improvement and start implementing these to the receiving department.
Responsibilities overlap with either positions in the Shipping or Kitting department to ensure all duties are covered in the event someone is absent.
May require shipping parts or machines to the respective customers.
May require the kitting of machines. Separating the parts into their respective bins and verifying the parts to the BOM
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in a technical field preferred
Experience using an ERP system
2 years progressive experience in Inventory Control preferred
Working knowledge of contemporary LEAN manufacturing practices preferred

Must have effective communication skills.

Must be a self-starter and detailed oriented.
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal and external organizations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands for this role include standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and performing repetitive motions such as bending, lifting, and reaching. There may be times that involve prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and engaging in repetitive hand movements for tasks like typing or writing. Employees must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance. The role may involve operating machinery, using hand tools, and maintaining precise hand-eye coordination. Good vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are essential for safely performing tasks and ensuring product quality
The work environment for this role is in a manufacturing facility with machinery, tools, and materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Noise levels can be high, and tasks may involve lifting or moving parts. Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals.
