Job Description:
Are you a results-oriented mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation and efficiency? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can make a real impact on industry-leading paper converting systems? If so, BW Papersystems wants to hear from you!
In this role, you'll play a key role in continuously improving our existing product lines. You'll leverage your creativity and technical expertise to design modifications that enhance the efficiency, functionality, and appearance of our paper converting equipment. You'll also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze existing paper converting systems to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, functionality, and aesthetics.
Apply your ingenuity and engineering knowledge to design innovative solutions that consider manufacturability, cost, and performance.
Conduct engineering calculations to ensure designs meet structural integrity, material usage, and operational requirements.
Utilize SolidWorks or Inventor to generate detailed technical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production.
Participate in customer site visits to provide technical assistance during installation and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Manage and maintain product/project files, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Maintain positive relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective material procurement.
All other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing, production or military environment.
