Job Description:
As a Shipping Associate with BW Papersystems, your role involves a diverse set of responsibilities. This includes overseeing the shipment of parts, units, and products to external processors and customers, as well as managing the return of defective goods to vendors. To ensure smooth operations, you will be responsible for maintaining minimal inventories of packaging supplies, electrical components, and hardware, collaborating with purchasing and supervision for timely replacements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize shipping notices, packing lists, and assembly prints to match shipping papers with parts intended for shipment to subcontractors, processors, or customers.
- Coordinate with the crate team to communicate shipping needs and assist in the packaging of parts.
- Employ an overhead crane for moving and positioning materials for shipment.
- Apply labels to shipments, specifying customer, shipping destination, and reference numbers, and create stencils when necessary.
- Complete red book sign-offs to ensure work quality and report any unexpected delivery or quality issues immediately.
- Inform the group leader upon task completion and request an audit for accuracy.
- Affix required labels and caution tags based on blueprints or structural guidelines.
- Package spare parts, hardware, prints, manuals, and diagrams for set-ups and installations, ensuring proper documentation.
- Use scales as needed to determine shipment weights.
- Identify crate requirements and construct crates as necessary using band saws, pneumatic scales, and staplers, applying protective coatings when required.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments and coordinate with transportation companies to address unique delivery requirements, shipping delays, or any related matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of logistics and warehousing experience
- Proficient computer skills required
- A general knowledge of standard hand tools required
