Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Manufacturing Manager will include:
- Compensation (Range): / hour: Salary: $125-140K
- Location: Madison Heights, MI
- Direct Hire position
- Provide leadership for manufacturing, prototyping, and testing operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to support DFM/DFA on new product development, including manufacturing best practices, tooling/equipment selection & use
- Communicate with internal teams (Management, purchasing, engineering, quality).
- Create, track, and resolve Open Issue and improvement lists. o Assist and guide system engineering activities such as DFMEA/PFMEA, Design/Product Validation APQP, and PPAP.
- Communicate Customer Specific Requirements to various HDS departments
- Oversee product manufacturing & process development of new Electric Vehicle systems.
- Identify and validate processes to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Maintain manufacturing and service schedules to meet production targets.
- Establish the site's manufacturing and support systems.
- Support quality operations, including continuous improvement forms (CIFS) as necessary.
- Manage material handling, shipping, and receiving activities and personnel as required.
- Participate as a team member of the site's Management Team, providing active leadership.
- Supervise HDS personnel in various manufacturing activities
- Train employees in calibration procedures.
- Manage the site's manufacturing team. o Lead facility maintenance and improvement activities.
- Control and disposition of nonconforming products to uphold quality standards
- Collaborate with Quality and Human Resources leadership to implement compliant and safe manufacturing systems.
- Maintain customer relationships and represent HDS professionally with integrity.
- Perform other activities as requested by the management team.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree from a nationally accredited university or college in Electrical, Controls, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years in manufacturing supervision/automotive management.
- Experience in manufacturing and product launch.
- Technical expertise in: manufacturing, fabrication, prototyping, facilitation, equipment and process engineering, fasteners, quality, warehousing, distribution, purchasing, contracting (including contract manufacturing).
- Proven leadership in assembly and fabrication of electronic and mechanical systems
- Inspirational leadership behaviors.
- Ability to work well with a multi-cultural engineering team.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other managers and engineering teams.
- Proven ability to use initiative and drive to achieve results.
- Preferred experience:
- High Voltage training and hands-on expertise
- Battery Pack and/or PDU assembly EV/HEV/PHEV knowledge
- Understanding of electronic hardware and software development and releases.
