Primary Objective of Barback Position
To provide quality service to customers of the bar area by keeping the bar stocked
Responsibilities
Ensures that the bar area is properly cleaned and well stocked with supplies
- Ensures that bar area is properly cleaned by mopping the floor and taking out the garbage as necessary
- Cleans all bar refrigerators
- Checks all coolers and shelves to insure proper stocking of beer, wine, and liquor
- Stocks bar with ice replacing as needed
- Checks for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins, bar towels, and matches; requisitions additional supplies as needed
- Cuts fruit as needed
- Fills requisition to replace the supplies used from the previous night
- Restocks bar with glasses
- Provides quality food and beverage service to customers
- Maintains knowledge of bar inventory and wine selection to respond properly to customer questions
- Learns of beverage recipes and mixing procedures
- Understands and follows all state laws and guidelines for beverage service
- Maintains proper bar cleanliness
