Bartels is seeking a fully licensed/insured cosmetologist to provide services to our residents in our on site salon/barber shop. The ideal candidate would also have the desire and ability to pick up PRN shifts as a Resident Assistant when the shop is not in operation. Please see requirements listed below:
Fully licensed and insured as a cosmetologist/barber in the state of Iowa
Required Shop services to provide: wash and sets, haircuts, wash and style, permanents, hair color
Additional services can be added at the cosmetologist/barber's discretion
Shop can be open to the public/outside clientele for a $275 monthly shop rental
Resident Assistant requirements: This candidate would be required to work a minimum 16 hours a month as RA for an additional hourly wage. Wage dependent on experience. The Resident Assistant will assist residents who are functionally, physically, and/or socially impaired and need 24-hour oversight. The Resident Assistant’s role is to assist residents with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without some form of assist, fostering at all times the resident’s independence and freedom of choice.

POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to think, act and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations.
· Must be self-motivated and function as an “in-charge person”.
· Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
· Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities.
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Regular attendance is required.
· Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
· Must be able to obtain a chauffer’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to lift/push over 50 pounds.
· Must be able to stand and walk for several hours at a time.
· Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
· Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
· Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional stress of the position.
· Must have CPR certification and be able to perform high quality CPR
