What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator - San Antonio, TX position at Bartlett Cocke General Contractors?
Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is seeking an entry level Estimator to join our team in San Antonio, TX! The Estimator will provide and/or coordinate complete and accurate estimates on various size projects and all types of contracts.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-proposal meetings, etc., to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Prepare estimate by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
- Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand
- Analyze data and produce forecasts
- Perform risk analysis
- Assist Project Team in evaluating submitted proposals during project buyout and contracting phase
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or any applicable degree program
- Valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.
- Entry level to 3 years of commercial construction bidding experience
- Experience with direct estimating, bid docs, proposals, as well as interacting with subs, owners & design teams preferred
- Ability to read, analyze & interpret blueprints
- Great attention to detail
- Experience with: ISQFT, On-Center, Timberline, & MS Office
- Excellent communication skills needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
