The Basics
Location: Great Bend, KS
Compensation: $19/hr and up
Days/Hours: This job will be 2nd shift. Usual hours are 9am to 5:30pm Monday-Friday, with a 30 minute clock out lunch. When there are trains to load or during harvest your hours may vary. There will be overtime and you will be on call every other weekend.
Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs
Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.
Requirements to be successful in this position:
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation
- For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Available to work overtime and weekends
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- This job can be physically strenuous
- You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
- You will work at heights
- You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
- This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
- You will be required to wear PPE
