Job Summary:
The Golf Course Front Counter Staff’s responsibilities consist of processing fees, concessions, equipment rental, cash handling and daily balancing of money, answering telephones, helping to update golf course information, coordinating foursomes, enforcing Thor Guard Rules / Rain Check refunds, alcohol and food handling procedures, and maintaining a clean and friendly environment. This is an at-will position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carefully count AM / PM bags to ensure starting dollar amount is accurate.
- Ensure clubhouse safe is locked after retrieving AM / PM bags.
- Lock and unlock rental, patio equipment, and front gates for general public use.
- Greet guests and answer questions as needed, answer phones, and provide general customer service.
- Accurately book tee times and process golf course green fees in GolfTrac via cash, check or credit card.
- Accept and process season and punch passes.
- Secure ID and deposits for golf club rentals.
- Prepare concession equipment, food and services per food handling policies.
- Accurately process the sale of all concessions, golf certificates, rental equipment and merchandise.
- Pair up small groups into foursomes for efficient play.
- Print “End of Shift” transaction register and “Cash Bank Out” reports after entering exact amount of bills, coin, checks and credit card receipts.
- Maintain a clean and neat work environment including following proper food handling and area sanitization.
- Check I.D.’s and enforce all regulations regarding the sale of alcohol.
- Enforce regulations regarding alcohol that is not purchased through the park district, being consumed on Bartlett Park District property.
- Enforce Thor Guard lightning protection system rules in inclement weather.
- Process Rain Checks for Thor Guard activation’s.
- Verify golf receipts for all players.
- Periodically use the golf cart to monitor play.
- Provide concessions via the beverage cart using the sales log sheet for accuracy.
- Insert and remove putting green flags and enforce “no chipping” rules.
- Pick up and return golf cart to maintenance garage daily.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are adhered to at all times.
- Attend district-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings, and first aid trainings as directed, as well as clubhouse specific trainings such as cash handling, purchasing, etc.
- Comply wiih the District’s Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing and wearing an employee name tag.
- Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations. The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.
- The District encourages its employees to “take ownership” of the District. As such, it shall be the responsibility of all Park District employees to pick up litter throughout the buildings, grounds, and facilities of the District.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent. Must be 21 years of age. The individual should have good customer service, and people skills and possess a courteous and friendly personality. Basic computer and cash register skills and strong general math skills. Must have or obtain Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education Training (BASSET) and Food Handling Certification within 30 days of starting
Schedule & Pay:
This is a part-time hourly position. Hours will vary. Hiring range starts at $15.00/hour, DOQ.
