Job Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Medical Staff Services Director, with a dotted line to the Patient Financial Services Director; this position will work within both departments to streamline the provider enrollment process, ensuring a seamless transition from enrollment to insurance payment. The Provider Enrollment Specialist is responsible for coordinating, processing and timely completion of individual provider and facility enrollment with government and third-party payers. This position independently supports the Bartlett Regional Hospital facilities, clinics and providers. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert in a defined functional area where decisions may directly impact patient care, revocation of billing privileges, accreditation, and community perception of Bartlett Hospital.
This position is also responsible for the other duties of the Revenue Cycle Team which include verifying insurance, answering phones, and professionally and timely communication with patients, providers and payors.
Provider Enrollment Specialist participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate, participates in professional and/or community organizations, and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent is required.
Experience: Two (2) years of administrative experience in a healthcare setting required.
Qualifying Experience Includes: Healthcare industry experience in medical staff services, provider enrollment, medical education, quality/risk management, human resources, coding, and/or preparing & retrieving information from electronic or hard copy medical files while maintaining confidentiality and proofreading.
Certification(s): HPE Certification must be obtained within 14 days of employment.
Preferred: Provider Enrollment Specialist (PESC), Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM).
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: This position starts at $29.74 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.
