Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse (RN) responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a various healthcare setting. Working autonomously or collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the NP assesses, diagnoses, and manages acute and chronic illnesses, injuries and medical conditions. Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner primarily for our inpatient Mental Health Unit. The successful candidate is someone who demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute needs in an inpatient setting. They will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and care coordination for patients with acute and chronic behavioral health needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited institution.
- Preferred Experience: Two (2) year's of experience in specialty area (Psych, General, etc.)
- License(s):Current State of Alaska Advanced Nurse Practitioner RN License and an active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
- Certifications:
- BLS for Healthcare Provider within 90 days of hire
- Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) within 90 days of hire.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) within 90 days of hire.
